It’s been a few days since I have actually written anything myself, so I will write a little update :) I hope you have enjoyed reading all the Inspiring Stories that have been coming in! Without inspiration, I would have quit a long time ago.
As far as my running goes, I once again tried to accomplish the goal I gave myself the first time I ran down my street – just run to the end of the road and back. I still haven’t succeeded in finishing that task. It’s only about 1.6 miles from my house to the end and back, but I failed to factor in the fact that the whole way back is some pretty steep uphill. The last time I tried it, I probably only walked 2 minutes total but I want to do the WHOLE thing! Who knew that my first goal was such a hard one??
On the other hand, while training for the Shoreline Classic, my first mile of running almost seems (dare I say) easy? Even in this never-ending, ungodly heat, I can get through my first mile pretty effortlessly. It’s that second mile that kills me. I really want to be able to run that whole 5k without stopping. If I can do that, I think I could do it in 36 minutes or less, which would be awesome!
It’s only supposed to be 85 degrees during the Shoreline Squad 2.5 mile run tonight. It will be interesting to see what lower temperatures do for my endurance and/or speed.
Despite running 3 days a week and playing some intense tennis games with my fiance, Chris, my weight is only dropping slowly. I guess anything is going to seem slow compared to the HCG Platinum diet I was doing. I have been counting calories for a while now and I don’t feel like it’s really working all that well. I usually eat back the calories I burn with exercise everyday, so I am going to try leaving those calories as burned and see if that helps.
My mom, sister, and I are going to start a little weight loss competition between us. We’re going to see who can lose the highest percentage of their weight in three months starting today. If my sister sticks to it, she will probably win, but I am going to try ;)
