Bloomington, Illinois’ annual fall “We Care Twin Cities Half Marathon” announced on June 15th that the race would no longer continue in 2017. Instead, the race is set to merge with St. Jude, now titled The St. Jude Walk/Run to End Childhood Cancer featuring the We Care 1/2 Marathon.

Decatur’s Shoreline Squad training program kicks off its’ summer program June 8, 2017 at Nelson Park in Decatur, Illinois. Shoreline Squad offers 13 weeks of instruction conducted by experienced squad leaders in walking, Learn to Run, 5k and 15k groups leading up to race day.
Abe’s Army is a 12 week program starting May 22, 2017, designed to train new runners and walkers to complete Abe’s Amble – Springfield’s premier 10K road race, held on the final day of the Illinois State Fair.
Runners & walkers who complete all three Monticello, IL races will be rewarded with a special prize!
The Decatur Running Club of Decatur, IL is once again hosting the “Grand Slam” medal challenge. All runners/walkers that complete 4 out of the 5 chosen Decatur, IL races in 2017 will receive a special medal at the end of the year.
