2016 Summer Park Runs in Decatur, IL
Join local runners in Decatur, IL for Summer Park Runs at Fairview Park on Tuesdays this summer. Sign up begins at 5:30 p.m. and the entry fee is $1. Summer Park Runs are open to runners of all ages and abilities. Races are held entirely on the Fairview Park bike path. For more information, call the DISC at 429-3472. The Tuesday night Summer Park Runs have been a long-standing tradition in the Decatur Community. Nothing seems to fit a summer in Decatur better than coming out to Fairview Park on a Tuesday evening, socializing with friends, getting in a timed run for your daily routine, a training run, or just to be outside enjoying the weather.
The runs are geared to runners of all abilities, with a special emphasis on the youth. The funds raised from the Summer Park Runs help support the youth programming activities at the DISC throughout the year.
The weekly event is growing and includes a half-mile Tot Trot, one-mile Fun Run, or various distances up to seven miles.
No pets or dogs are allowed in the Tuesday Night Summer Park Runs.
