Help us celebrate the new year with a 5k run or a 2k walk on New Year’s Eve!
In the history of the race it has only been postponed once because of heavy snow, and shortened once for safety when a portion of the course was under a blanket of ice. The usual turnout is about 100 runners.
Both races begin and end at the Decatur Family YMCA (220 W. McKinley Ave in Decatur, IL)
The 5k race will pass by Decatur Memorial Hospital, left to Monroe, then north and turn at Miles Nissan for the return leg.
The 2k race will stay within 2 blocks of the YMCA. Fans and supporters are encouraged to come and cheer.
Refreshments will be available at the Decatur Family YMCA after the race.
Race proceeds benefit the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign.

The race will begin promptly at 2pm at the YMCA.
Complimentaries:
All participants registered by December 14, 2011 are guaranteed a commemorative long-sleeve race shirt; sizes not filled (late registration) will be ordered & made available post-race day.
Additional shirts MAY be available for purchase after the race.
Water will be available at the turn around, refreshments post-race at the YMCA.
Restrictions:
Strollers and dogs are allowed only in the 2k Fun Run, but please start at the back.
Awards:
Awards will be given to the top three female and male finishers in each of the following brackets for the 5k race: 10-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+
